Beginner Yoga
Learn to stretch, strengthen and release tension while developing concentration and body awareness. This class is designed for anyone new to yoga or continuing students. Includes basic yoga postures and breathing practices, ending with a final relaxation.
Pre-Natal Yoga
Practice the art of relaxation through breath awareness, reduce physical tension with yoga postures, and safely prepare for labor. Pre-registration is required, sessions are ongoing and may be started at anytime.
Boogie Down Teen Yoga
Boogie Down teen yoga combines yoga poses with hip hop music and dance to create a fun, energetic mind/body experience. It gives teens a chance to express themselves in a safe, yet creative environment. Increases stamina, flexibility, core strength, balance, and relaxation.
Tone and Yoga
Tone and Yoga is designed to incorporate sun salutations, light hand weights, yoga asanas, and breath work into a yoga flow. Focus of this class is on core strength and muscle conditioning. Light hand weights are used to isolate and tone upper body muscles, sun saluations strengthen lower body and core, abdominal work increases body heat to help boost metabolism. Fun and fast pace, ends with a well deserved savasana. This class is not for the beginner yogi.
Yoga Blast Class
A fun, funky movement class combining stretching, strengthening, and sweat to help you burn calories and increase flexibility while moving to your favorite top 40 tunes. Designed for those not ready to relax into regular yoga class.
Light Power Yoga
Intermediate yoga class incorporating sun salutations, strength building standing series, followed by advanced core work and of course a relaxing savasana. Previous yoga experience required.
Itsy Bitsy Yoga (ages 3-5), YogiKids (ages 6-19) and Yogakids (9-12)
Make way for the next generation! Through yoga, children learn how to relax and interact in a nurturing and non-competitive environment. Yoga practice also increases flexibility, strength and muscle tone and helps kids to develop space orientation, body awareness, balance, and a sense of harmony. Playful kids class mixes games and songs with the physical postures and breath work. Pre-registration is required and may be started at any time.
Yoga for Those Living with Cancer
Being diagnosed with cancer can be a confusing, frightening and stressful time in anyone’s life. Regular practice of gentle yoga can help relieve stress, restore the spirit, relax the body, and may even ease the side effects of various treatments. These classes are appropriate for anyone who is living with any type of cancer, whether you have just been diagnosed, are receiving treatments, or are in remission. No prior yoga experience is required. These classes offer a way to gently restore a loving and healing relationship with the body. We will enjoy an extended period of relaxation with guided meditation, easeful asana and movement sweetly synchronized with effortless breath- all in the context of mindfulness and open-heartedness. Pre-registration is required, session ongoing and you may start at anytime with approval from your physician. Limited to 10 students per class.
Caregiver Yoga
Being the caregiver is challenging, there is a lot of pressure, a lot of speed, and not a lot of support, as a result, there tends to be a lot of burnout. The caregiver classes run simutaniously with the Yoga for those Living with Cancer, providing a well deserve break for the caregiver to practice self care. Self care is critical because it is impossible for caregivers to look after others when they can’t look out for themselves. No prior experience with yoga is required, the class will include gentle active and restorative poses for healing and relaxation, connecting you to your body, breath, and the present moment, stress-relieving pranayama (breathing), and followed by a relaxation period.
Couple’s Yoga
Bring your significant other for a unique fun class that will enhance your flexibility, stress-level, communication (and golf swing) as we assist each other in partner yoga poses. Lots of laughs.
A Gift of Relaxation
Join us for an hour of relaxation including pranayama (breath), meditation techniques, followed by guided imagery. Group atmosphere allows for a pleasurable experience designed to reduce the stress in your life encouraging you to be present in the moment accepting whatever life sends your way. Drop-in’s welcome or treat yourself to a session.
Monthly Restorative Yoga Class
This class is held once a month and is offered by pre-registration only on first come basis. This class offers the amazing gifts of yoga without the strenuous activity. Restorative class utilize props to support postures that range from passive to mildly active. Restoratives are also a great way to balance an active practice or lifestyle, and will give you more energy and clarity. Light reiki healings are offered during this class. Open to all levels. Offered Sept 14, Oct 19, Nov 16, and Dec 14 on Sunday evenings 7 pm to 8:30 pm. Fee $20, please bring two large pillows, two blankets, eye pillow, and bath towel.
